After the release of their last studio album “RESIST”, the Dutch rock band Within Temptation hinted several times to release new music, that day is about to come. Within Temptation just released their new single, “Entertain You”.

After their release “RESIST“, released 14 December 2018, Within Temptation already hinted on bringing new music soon. Not a full album, but maybe some singles or even an EP. This May, we may expect new music. According to Rock And Roll Army, this won’t be the only new release Within Temptation will have for us in 2020!
The most concrete goal is to release three singles per year and six singles every two years, with eventually a potential album release. The direct goal is to release new tracks more consistently, resulting in both the band and the fans being at the forefront of fresh, newly composed music.

“For many, the song will be a shock”
The single is a prequel on their previously released seventh studio album “RESIST”, has exceeded all expectations. “RESIST” debuted in several rankings around the world. And now, a year later, new material is ready to be shared.
In the Dutch magazine Parool, Sharon den Adel talks about the song, “Entertain You”.
“Entertain You” is about… people aren’t here on planet earth to entertain you. It seems more common for us that people are taking photos or shooting videos all around us these days. On the internet there are numerous of videos where people don’t even know that they’ve been filmed and we laugh about them. This is something we, the society, should be aware of.
But also, “Entertain You” is about your freedom to express yourself in whatever way you want. If we are on a stage, we do this to play our music. There is also a piece of entertainment there, but that’s not the main case. The song is about all those situations in which you can shout to someone you’re not here to entertain them.

The new single, written by Daniel Gibson, Robert Westerholt and Sharon den Adel, is out now on Apple Music and iTunes and Spotify.
The single is the first to be released independently and on own label. Within Temptation decided to release this track, with male vocals of producer Daniel Gibson, without the help of Vertigo/Universal, with whom they signed a deal for their 2018-album “RESIST”.

Worlds Collide Tour
Within Temptation was about to join a co-headlining tour with the American rock band Evanescence. Singers Sharon den Adel and Amy Lee were about to join forces and tour throughout Europe with their “Worlds Collide” Tour. Unfortunately, the tour got postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the world. The new tour is set to start on 2 September 2020 in Glasgow, United Kingdom. More information here.
