Can you RESIST temptation? That’s the question Within Temptation has asking their fans for the past weeks, since their second black-out on social media. Was the end near? A new album coming up? On 5 September we learned the band was going to release new music, “The Reckoning” is scheduled for release this Friday, 14 September 2018. Today, the lyric video was published online on YouTube.
The Reckoning
The song is in collaboration with Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix. In earlier interviews, Within Temptation promised its fans to release more heavy music in 2018 and 2019. They kept themselves to their promise. Compared to their 2014-release “Hydra“, “The Reckoning” is for sure a lot more heavy.
The song, with a total length of 4 minutes and 11 seconds, is going to be released on the seventh full length studio album of the Dutch rock band. Their seventh studio album is scheduled for release December 2018 via Vertigo Music Germany.

Band Logo
Also new to this era is the Within Temptation band logo. With each era of Within Temptation, new material to present the album is created. “Hydra” was all about dragons and flames, this era is different styled. Darker, bolder colours and futuristic ideas. The band logo has also changed to the letter “W”, “T” and an “X”. Creative fans, and fans with good eyes, already spotted the new logo on their website.
Resist
The word is out. As we expected already, the upcoming album of the Dutch rock band is named “Resist“. According to EMP International, the album is scheduled for release December 2018 and will be available for pre-order this Friday, 14 September 2018.
