Great news for long-time Within Temptation fans, or new fans who want to start their collection, Sony Poland is about to get three Within Temptation releases reissued. One reissue on vinyl, one first-time vinyl release ánd a first-time on CD. This all is very exciting – and Sony BMG Music Entertainment is always very reliable with new release announcements, right?
An Acoustic Night At The Theatre to be reissued
A fan favourite, the 2008 live release “An Acoustic Night At The Theatre“. Released on vinyl for limited quantities. This live release, originally recorded at Muziekcentrum Frits Philips Eindhoven, The Netherlands on 30 November 2008, is about to be reissued on vinyl LP by Sony Poland. Release is due Friday 28 December 2018.
Update 28 Aug 2018: The vinyl will be pressed on limited edition clear vinyl. The retail price will be approximately € 29.99/$34.99 or 128.89 złoty (as the information was gathered via Polish distributors).
Black Symphony for the first time on vinyl LP! [Update]
Most likely to be the best Within Temptation release to date, their “Black Symphony” release is about to be reissued as well, for the first time ever on vinyl LP! This release was recorded at Ahoy Rotterdam on 07 February, 2008 and the band was accompanied by the Dutch Metropole Orchestra, Pa’dam Choir and special guests. On this record, live vocals of George Oosthoek, Anneke van Giersbergen and Keith Caputo are to be heard. This release, with a total length of 122 minutes, is about to be released on vinyl LP for the very first time ever! Sony Poland announced this item to be released on 3LP. Release is due Friday 28 December 2018.
Update 28 Aug 2018: The vinyl will be pressed on 180g black vinyl. The retail price will be approximately € 69.99/$74.99 or 298.89 złoty (as the information was gathered via Polish distributors).
Update 21 Aug 2018: According to our contacts with Polish suppliers, the vinyl will be pressed on coloured vinyl. Which colour is yet unknown.
The Silent Force Tour on CD [UPDATE]
Another great live release, their 2005-release of “The Silent Force Tour” is about to be reissued by Sony Poland, for the first time ever on CD-only release. This show, recorded 22 July 2018 at Java Island in Amsterdam, The Netherlands reached the second place on the Dutch charts. Release is due Friday 28 December 2018.
Update 28 Aug 2018: The CD will be pressed three CDs in a yet unknown cover. The retail price will be approximately € 15.99/$19.99 or 53.89 złoty (as the information was gathered via Polish distributors).
Update 21 Aug 2018: According to our contacts with Polish suppliers, the CDs will be packed in a jewel case.
??? Question Marks ???
Unfortunately, we’ve got our question marks with these three releases. Begin 2018, Sony also announced to release four Within Temptation records on special and coloured vinyl. Fans got excited and web stores received hundreds of orders. Unfortunately, later, Sony canceled the production of these vinyl records and web stores needed to refund all the fans. Will we ever hold these records in our hands? Future will learn….
