“Sharon speaks to Rock Sound magazine”

[nl] As Within Temptation revealed the title for a new album not so long ago, Sharon den Adel spoke to some of the biggest UK rock magazines revealing more and more details.

The fifth album may not only be inspired by the 80′s…
“We’ve taken some inspiration from Iron Maiden in their early days to bands we liked in our early teens to the lighter music of the time, like Madonna. At the moment my favourite song is ‘In The Middle Of The Night’ – the name is the working demo title so it might change. There are lots of masculine riffs and I imagine the guys feeling very cool playing it,” Sharon said for UK’s Rock Sound magazine.

“We were backed into a corner a little within our certain genre… For us it’s necessary to go in a different direction, because if you feel like you’ve done everything you can, you have to try something new.

“We didn’t set out to use orchestra this time, but the songs sounded better so we were like, ‘Okay, let’s use the orchestra again’.”
The work on the album took place in Power Sound Studios in Amsterdam with producer Daniel Gibson.

Mein jetziger Lieblingssong ist “In the Middle of the Night” – das ist der Name eines unserer Demos

so der name dürfte sich noch ändern .

In diesem Song sind sehr viele “maskuline” Riffs und ich denke mir das sich die Jungs sehr cool vorkommen wenn sie ihn spielen “

Wir waren in einer Ecke innerhalb unserem bestimmten Genre gelandet … Für uns ist es wichtig in eine andere Richtung zu gehen , denn wenn du dich fühlst als hättest du schon alles erdenkliche getan , dann muss man einfach etwas neues ausprobieren !

“Wir wollten nicht mehr so viel Orchesternutzen , aber die Songs hörten sich einfach viel besser an sodass wir sagten : Okay ,lasst uns das Orchester nochmal verwenden”

Die Arbeit für das Album nahm in den Power Sound Studios in Amsterdam platz .
